Cassidy's Tap Recital

Today was Cassidy's Spring Tap Recital. Her 3's class did a dance to Lollipop. This was the final recital of the year. She did a fantastic job. Here are some pics of her getting ready, hanging with her friends, waiting backstage, and after the show. We are so proud of our little girl! Although she was all business on stage, not even cracking a smile, she loved every second of it.

Cassie and Kaitlyn

This year Cassie met Katelyn Fillabrown. Her mommy, Lee Ann, is a good friend of mine. The girls will be in class together next year at MCA and are looking forward to becoming great friends. This picture was taken at the MCA end of the year Volunteer Breakfast. Cassie brought her kitties to share.

MCA Field Day 08

Today was Field Day at McKinney Christian Academy, and end of the year event. Colton's class got to do about 8 events which included a horse on a stick game, passing water buckets over their head, racing on bouncing balls, a huge waterslide, and others. Colton rarely stopped smiling. It was great for us Moms to get to hang together all day. It's sad for us too that school is ending. It's been so fun seeing everyone everyday at carpool or during events. I've made such great friends this year and we all hope our kids are in the same class next year.

Mothers Day Tea at Cassidy's Preschool

Today was the Mothers Day Tea at Cassidy's Preschool. Her class sang us songs, presented us with a bunch of precious gifts they made us, and then we shared lunch and tea. Cassie was so so excited about this day. Since Cole got a cool day at the Zoo yesterday, she was pumped to have Mommy to herself today. I get such a kick out of seeing her in her element at school. Cassie only has 2 weeks left of school and I know she's going to miss her friends from Wesley Christian Preschool.

Dallas Zoo May 2008

Yesterday I was a chaparone for Colton's MCA Kindergarten Field trip to the Dallas Zoo. I was in charge of 4 boys from Colton's class....Jack, Joshua, Caleb, and Colton. We had a blast. I just love little boys. They are hilarious; and the chance to make funny faces at the camera just makes their day. Celeste had 4 kids also so the 10 of us ran around together the whole time. At one point the boys in my group each wanted to take a picture of the group. For some reason they thought this was SO COOL (see pics). The weather was beautiful and the boys were all very good. It was loads of fun. I'm just getting old cause I was EXHAUSTED by the bus ride home. I wonder if I'll be able to "hang" next time we go to Disney World :)

Nate and Colton May 2008

This year Colton has become really good friends with Nathan Gwynn, one of my best friends' sons. I caught them playing around on a tractor out at Nathan's house last weekend and they actually SMILED for a picture....this is a big deal for these 2.

The Gwynn Safari

Last weekend some of our best friends, the Gwynns, invited us out to their place for a BBQ. They live out in Anna, Texas which is about 20 mins from my house. They live out about 10 acres and recently got some new pets....some zebras, buffalo, and random (I have no idea what they are) animals. It's like a freakin' safari out there...and it ROCKS! They are just an amazing family and we are blessed to have them in our lives.

Innocence

Every once in a while, I upload my pictures and come across a shot that brings me to tears. As a mother, that's tears of pride/joy. This picture of Cassidy was taken up at Colton's school one day. The lower school principal was saying a prayer closing the Kite Day festivites and Cassidy, un prompted, assumed prayer position and prayed along. My little 4 year old girl has such a sweet innocent relationship with our Lord. Oh my sweet little girl...I want her to stay this age forever....

Kite Day at MCA

This Spring Colton's school, McKinney Christian Academy, held their 1st annual Kite Day. They paired all the younger grade kids with an older student. Pre K was with 5th graders, Kinder was with 4th Graders. Colton's "older buddy" was Kyle and he was so sweet. Colton thought he was the COOLEST having an older kid at school being his partner. Of course when the boys were having trouble getting their kite in the air I tried to come to the rescue and went out on the field to see if I could help. This mortified Colton and he actually gave me "the hand". Oh I see how it is! The teams were judged by the teachers and although Cole & Kyle didn't win, they had a blast. The event was such a success they are pumped to make it an annual day. Here are some shots of Cole and Kyle, of them trying to fly their kite, and of some of my dear friends I've made up at the school this year.

Easter 2008

Hunt at the Gwynn's (MCA group) Hunt with Church friends at the Whiddon's

Easter this year was full of many egg hunts and celebrating our Lord's Resurrection. We had an egg hunt with our MCA friends, an egg hunt with our Church friends, and a family egg hunt searching for those the Easter Bunny hid.

Bug Day 2008 at MCA

It was the annual Bug Day at McKinney Christian Academy and Colton wanted to be a tarantula. He actually looked pretty creepy and loved freaking his friends out in class.
